indexing

My new obsession: FamilySearch Indexing. It's fun to get to see old records--to see when and where people lived and died. This last week I have been indexing "US Applications for Headstones for US Veterans." It gives me a sense of pride to have tangible proof of all the men who have fought and served to protect this great land and the freedoms we all hold dear.

I sometimes chuckle at the names I come across, but I can't help wondering who these men were and what they were like. Maybe someday I'll get the chance to meet them.
