I went outside this evening and was met with a breathtaking sight reminding me of one of the many reasons why I live in Arizona. Where else do you get sunsets like these?



Not only is it where my family is located, but it is also one of the most beautiful places I've ever lived or visited. I am in love with the desert that surrounds me and am constantly taking pictures. These are a few I've taken over the last couple years. Enjoy! Maybe they'll make you want to take a vacation and come visit...

I SURVIVED THE ARIZONA WINTER STORM OF 2010

I have been involved in a Tornado-Warning-Turn-Watch twince in my life, besides that freak tornado that touched down in Salt Lake City in 1999--see pic insert. (No wonder I have high blood pressure!!) The first time was the summer I went to Arkasas to spend a week with my rommate, Devone, and her family. Torrential, side-blwoing rain, unbelievable wind, and more heart-pounding nervousness than I EVER wanted. Luckily, that night, we evaded catastrophe that night. The tornado never materialized and I lived to tell about it.

Last night I stared death in the face again (and yes, I miiight be over-exaggerating just a tad dramatic, but still...)

January 21, 2010, 8:45pm: The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch for Maricopa County, AZ (yes, folks, that's where I live). This warning was upgraded to a Tornado Warning a few minutes later and lasted till 10:00pm. There was an unconfirmed reposrt of a tornado touching down in Scottsdale last night. Luckily, I didn't blow away. I escaped death by twister yet again! Ha-ha! Take that, Mother Nature!! However....this storm did do some damage. Found out my window leaks:

K, so after my last posts I thought of a few more things I'm obsessed with...

guilty obsessions

When I started this blog two years ago it was supposed to be a place where I could talk about all of my crazy obsessions. I figured it was time to get back to my roots. This is my obsession...

I am still in love/infatuated/obsessed with N SYNC. They may no longer be together as a group. Their last CD may have been released in 2005 and their last performance may have been in 2004 and there may be no hope of them ever getting back together (damn you, Justin Timberlake! Why did you have to bring sexy back and be all amazing and talented and...and...and...amazing...) and people may make fun of me for still listening to their music BUT, they will always be "my boys." Anytime I'm having a bad day or just want to forget about the stress of being an adult, I put in one of their CD's or pull up their songs on my mp3 player and everything is right in the world once more! :)

I am addicted to writing. Writing is my life. There are always a million and a half ideas floating around in my head. In fact, just this morning I was listening to the radio on the way to work and got a story idea from the song that was on. I always have a notebook and a pen in my purse and I am always writing down little ideas and random scene ideas that come to mind. It's amazing what normal, every day activities can inspire! The only problem with this little obsession of mine? My ficitional life is WAY more exciting and romantic than my real life and I often find myself jealous of my ficitional alter-ego. Megan has the life I want!

I am addicted to the show "Glee" on Fox and I am DYING over the fact that the show is on hiatus until April!! I am also IN LOVE with Matthew Morrison aka "Will Shuester."

The show is amazing and I highly recommend the soundtracks to anyone who is looking for something new to listen to!

I'm also addicted to Twitter.

My mp3 player is sometimes the only way I can make it through the day. It has 8GB and I've almost filled it up. I am always buying new CD's from my favorite artists and downloading new songs from amazon.com and uploading them onto the thing. I don' t know what's going to happen when I reach full capacity...

And lastly, my family. We're all a little crazy but I'm addicted. I love hanging out, spending time, laughing, having fun and goofing off with them!

my closet

I know I talk about living in a closet all the time, so I figured I would take a few pictures and post them here so you can see that I'm really not exaggerating. This is the new bedspread/sheet set I bought at Target today. It was time for a change and it was on clearance for $20.

This is my "kitchen." A microwave, a toaster oven, a sink, a fridge and an electric skillet...what else do you need?
