things in my neighborhood

I am attempting to be somewhat healthy in the new year, so my roommie and I have been walking every night. I thought you might be interested in some of the things we have found around our neighborhood...

1 sporadically dancing roommate (Na na na na nana...Gettin jiggy wit it")

1 gray cat/dive bombing_____? (Thanks Elaina! It's nice to know you would protect me in a real emergency!)

1 cookie, still wrapped and...eatible? (ready, together: "A cookie!")

1 plastic Christmas tree (still lit) in someone's front yard (as my roommie Kristina said, "I love Christmas in January"...can you hear the sarcasm?)

1 petrified chalk eraser in the middle of the road (I think it may have actually been a brick.)

1 guy riding a motorcycle (Careful of the speed humps. And no, I am not talking about rabbits! Elaina, stop laughing!)

1 white car with it's brights on driving menacingly slow ("game off...game on...")

and 1 styrofoam egg carton (I really have nothing to say about this. It was just kind of random...)

pop quiz

What happens if you don't show up for jury duty? I've been told: "Bad things." Whatever that means.

As you can probably guess, I received a jury summons on Wednesday (my first, by the way) and I am not looking forward to going. And by the way, whose idea was it for there to be two Mondays this week? I had to go to work on Monday (because I had no remaining time-off for the year) then had Tuesday off for New Year's and then had to go back to work on Wednesday (aka Monday: part duex).

Alright, enough venting. Hopefully those of you reading this had a fantastic Christmas. I did. I got some fabulous gifts (if anyone's interested in participating in an all day "Lord of the Rings: Extended Edition" marathon give me a call).

In closing I just want to remind you that January is National Soup Month. Make sure you take a minute this month to stop and reflect on how thankful you are for soup. I mean, honestly, where would we be as a nation if it weren't for soup?

Peace out!

am i ridiculous?

I hate being sick. This is the third time this winter that I have gotten sick (and it's only the middle of December!) I think I may be allergic to my house...

Featured items of the week:

*My new red hoodie (I love hoodies...good to have around on those "fat" days. 'No, I'm not fat...it's just the pocket')

*Fireworks (went to Prescott, AZ this past weekend with the fam and there were fireworks! In December! Love it!)

*facebook.com (an easy and fun way to keep in touch with friends...plus a great way to waste time. Did you know that I am an oatmeal raisin cookie? Now you do!)

*Random texts to my best friend Kristy (...yes, but you see I live in Phoenix where that just shouldn't happen!)

Merry Christmas! And in case I don't see you...Happy New Year's! Here's to a great 2008!

magnet for crack...i mean crap

On any given day I will receive 1-6 credit card offers in the mail. Which means that in an average week I will be given the chance to sign up for 6-36 different credit cards...for some reason I have become a magnet for crap. I don't like it.

Now on to things I do like...

*Radio Disney (it's not just for tweens!)

*Jeff Dunham (...dot com. Silence! I kill you!)

*My niece, Barbara Lynn (the cutest baby ever!)

*www.youtube.com (this is what I do when I should be studying...or sleeping...Below is my favorite youtube video--*warning* I am once again showing my inner teenager and admitting to an obsession I've had for quite a while!)

another one bites the dust...

Yes, it's true. I too have succumbed to the temptation and have created my own blog! Since my life as a whole really isn't all that interesting I have decided to dedicate this page to my guilty pleasures and current obsessions. So sit back, relax and remember...whoever said nothing was impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.

This week's guilty pleasures...

*Mint M&M's (they are only available at Christmas time...so buy a bag and enjoy them while they last! You won't regret it!)

*NSYNC/Backstreet Boys (and all things relating to hot current and former boyband members!)

*Christmas sugar cookies ('nuff said!)
