I'm pretty sure I read it all in one night and was instantly hooked. I fell in love with Edward Cullen and couldn't imagine anything better than him.
Then I found out it was not just a solitary book, it was part of a series!! I immediately bought the second book online which was out (after going to all the bookstores by my house and discovering that everyone was sold out). I devoured that one as soon as it came, then had to wait AN ENTIRE YEAR! for the next one to come out. And so it went on, until the final book, Breaking Dawn came out (which, P.S. I hated. The ending was such a let down I literally threw the book across the room when I was done with it).
Then the movies started. I was excited! Until I found out who they had cast as Edward.
I'm sorry.
I HATE Robert Pattinson in this role. He is NOT the Edward Cullen I imagined and fell in love with and Kristen Stewart can't act her way out of a paper bag. She's a mouth breather, she always looks and moves like she's constipated, and has no emotional range WHATSOEVER. Not to mention the fact that, although they're dating in real life, they have no chemistry and it's awkward watching them together on screen.

After watching the first Twilight Saga movie I realized how incredibly DUMB these books are. Usually I get upset with book to movie adaptations because they screenwriters don't stay true to the story and it turns out to be a very different story than I originally read. However, that was not the case with these books. Although there are obvious differences that come from adapting a book into a movie, the scripts are pretty true to character. Which is the problem. Twilight is SO. CHEESY. And this last movie was no exception. I literally rolled my eyes and had to bite my tongue to keep the laughter in (and not be killed by all the teenage girls around me in the theatre) for the first 20 minutes. It was that bad. The middle was slightly better, and the fight scene was actually kind of cool, and then it all fell apart again at the end and I remembered why I had gotten mad and thrown the book when I read it.
After the movies I couldn't ever read the books again. They'd been ruined. I was no longer in love with Edward and had, instead, found something new in life to mock and laugh at. However, I have friends who love the movies that, I am sad to say, I've seen all the movies now. And have wasted, in total, 6 years of my life on these books and movies and all I have is a craving now for nachos...
