Down 105 pounds!!  

sometimes i'm a bit impulsive

Today my team at work had a "team builder".  We went and had lunch at the park and then played some games.  The weather was gorgeous and it's always nice to get out of the office for a little while.  I was the first one at the park (we left the office and each went our own way to pick up whatever we wanted for lunch).  Since I brought my lunch from home, I didn't have to go anywhere, so I just made myself comfortable at one of the picnic tables and started playing a couple games of Candy Crush.

All the sudden I heard something walking up behind me.  I turned to look and discovered my visitor was a duck that had wandered over from the lake.  She walked around the picnic table then stood and stared at me for a good five minutes.  Waiting for me to throw her some food?  I don't know.  It was kind of weird.

She was giving me the evil eye.  Then this other bird (I think he was a grackle?) was making the most bizzarre sound I have ever heard in my life.  I can't even explain it.  It was like he had rocks in his throat that were grating on each other and he was making them rub against each other then he would scream.  He kept making the sound at me, then he went and got a piece of food from off the ground, brought it back to the picnic table and dropped it.  The duck, who was still standing there staring at me, ran over and ate it.  Then he started making that weird sound and yelling at her!  It was crazy.

Also, the pigeons were the size of small cats.  I'm not even kidding.

I was kind of terrified.

Eventually everyone else showed up.  We ate, and talked, and laughed, and played Phase 10.  It was fun!  Then, afterwards I texted Julia to see what she was up to.  She was going to get her hair done and I decided to go with her.  Impulsively I decided to get my hair cut and get it colored!  I had them do an A-line cut and I went with a darker brown color.  I like it!  I think it turned out cute!

Julia and I took some pictures while she was waiting for her hair color to set.  She went really dark and got some red highlights up in.  I love her hair!  It's so cute on her!! (Unfortunately, I don't have an after picture of her...)

Mom, Julia, and I all came out of our rooms this morning to go to church wearing pink.  Great minds think a like!

family, food, and fun

This afternoon we went to a B. F. Johnson family reunion that Mom was in charge of.  She put in SO many hours into planning everything and getting things organized and set up.

After the reunion we went to Rockin' R Ranch for dinner.  So fun!

Valentine's Day 2014:

Julia made awesome sugar cookies to take to work.  She's got great decorating skills.

I was in charge of dinner and the festivities.  We decorated with the beautiful roses Dad got Mom.  The weather was gorgeous so we ate dinner out on the back porch.

Dinner was heart-shaped English muffin pepperoni pizzas.  So good!  (I had some vegan pepperoni that was actually pretty good.)

Faith and Josh brought red jell-o and Julia was in charge of the drink.

Cran-Raspberry juice with Sprite in sugar-rimmed glasses.  Yum!

Josh stuffed most of a whole muffin in his mouth in one bite.  Impressive!

After dinner and games Steven, Kristen, Megan and baby Melody came over!  We all got a chance to hold and cuddle with baby.
